Terms & Conditions
1. About these terms
These Terms & Conditions govern enquiries, journey planning, proposals and bookings made with The Minutes Tours ("we", "us", "our") for safari, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar travel in Tanzania. By submitting a journey request or confirming a booking with us, you agree to these terms.
2. Enquiries and proposals
Submitting the journey planner, a contact form, or a travel request does not create a booking or any obligation to pay. It starts a conversation with a consultant, who will prepare a personalised proposal based on your dates, budget and preferences. Proposals are subject to availability at the time of confirmation and may change before a booking is confirmed.
3. Booking and payment
A booking is confirmed once you accept a proposal, we confirm availability with our partners, and the required deposit is received. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, a non-refundable deposit is required to hold a booking, with the remaining balance due before travel — the exact deposit amount and balance due date will be stated in your proposal or invoice. Prices are quoted in US Dollars unless stated otherwise and may change before a deposit is paid due to changes in park fees, accommodation rates or currency movements; once a deposit is paid, the quoted price is held for that booking.
4. Cancellations and changes
If you need to cancel or change a confirmed booking, please contact your consultant as soon as possible. Because we pay camps, hotels, parks and operators in advance to secure your booking, cancellation charges apply and increase closer to the travel date — the specific cancellation schedule will be set out in your booking confirmation or invoice. We will always try to minimise loss by working with our partners on your behalf, but cannot guarantee a full refund once a booking is confirmed.
5. Travel documents, health and safety
You are responsible for ensuring you and everyone in your party hold a valid passport, any required visas, and any recommended or required vaccinations and travel insurance for Tanzania. We recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical treatment and emergency evacuation for all safari and trekking itineraries. Please tell us about any medical conditions or dietary requirements in advance so we can plan accordingly.
6. Our responsibility
We take care in selecting the camps, hotels, guides, vehicles and operators used on your itinerary. However, some elements of your trip (such as flights, transport, accommodation and activities) are provided by independent third parties, and we are not liable for their acts, omissions, or for circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to adverse weather, wildlife behaviour, road conditions, strikes, or government action ("force majeure"). Where such events affect your trip, we will work with you and our partners to find reasonable alternatives.
7. Changes to your itinerary
Occasionally, circumstances beyond our control (weather, park regulations, road conditions, safety) may require changes to an itinerary after booking. Where this happens, we will substitute the affected element with one of similar standard wherever possible and let you know as soon as we reasonably can.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes will first be addressed through direct discussion between you and The Minutes Tours in good faith.
9. Contact us
If you have any questions about these terms, please get in touch via the contact details shown on our Contact page or in the site footer.
